The GINZ Training Programmes
Gestalt Instiutute Workshop Series 2009

This is a personal/professional development experientially-based programme focussed on personal growth with an introduction to Gestalt Theory and Practice.

Requires attendance at three 4 day workshops in the same year in Christchurch.

The workshops are held over a weekend in February, July and November starting on a Friday at 9am and finishing on the following Monday at 3.30pm.
Gestalt Institute Certificate Course

This is a comprehensive, experientially-based programme.

The Certificate Course is focussed on personal growth, with an introduction to Gestalt Psychotherapy theory and practice.

Requires attendance at three 4 day workshops per year in Christchurch, combined with on going small group training in each centre - Christchurch, Wellington and Dunedin. The three 4 Day workshops are held in Christchucrh with the first being early February, teh second in early July, and the last in late November.

Please note that enroling and completing the certificate course does not guarantee a continuation of training into the diploma program. Continuation of training beyond the certificate year is offered by invitation from faculty.
Gestalt Institute Diploma program

Begins with the succesful completion of the Certficate Course and faculty inviting the trainee to continue their training with us.

Each training stage includes personal growth, academic assignments on Gestalt theory and practice, and practical skills in the Gestalt method of psychotherapy.

The diploma qualification is achieved in 4 stages:

Certificate year

Stage 11a
-
Stage 11b
-
Senior Stage (graduating year)

Progression and graduation is dependent on competency in all areas.
Other Training requirements

Clinical experience in a safe supervised setting.

Regular supervision with a Gestalt supervisor.

Completion of the Interface between Psychiatry & Psychotherapy modules and an external viva examination.

A psychiatric clinical placement.
-
Attendance at least one at a basic training workshop in another modality.

Commitment to on going professional growth and development.
Admission to training
These training programs are suitable for a wide range of people including:

Graduate students enrolled in programmes leading to a career in the health disciplines.

Human Service professionals working in the community and people in management looking for a relevant and stimulating training programme.

Teachers, counsellors, managers, team leaders and human resource personnel who work in a variety of settings.

Others whose work or talents make it reasonable that they would benefit from the training and use it in their work.
As our course is accredited by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority, student loans may be available.
